Our Staff


Kirsty Kerr

B.B.Sc., Grad. Dip. Ed. Psych., MAPS

Principal Psychologist


Kirsty has nineteen years experience in working with children with developmental differences, and their families. Kirsty has worked delivering intensive behaviour intervention for children with developmental delays, and has provided psychological services in Early Childhood Intervention Services (ECIS), and in specialist primary school settings.


Kirsty is trained in the assessment and diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder using the ADI-R and ADOS-2. Kirsty has experience in facilitating parent groups, running anxiety management and social skills groups, delivering seminars and workshops, and mentoring other professionals.


Kirsty has a particular interest in children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, and in providing parent support and counselling in this area, including two years as the Family Counsellor at Amaze (formerly Autism Victoria).  Kirsty's other previous workplaces include Specialist Children's  Services, Wantirna Heights School (Eastern Melbourne region ASD primary school), The Currajong School (specialist Social and Emotional school), and The Autism Behavioural Intervention Association (ABIA). Kirsty currently provides consultancy to the Parenting Research Centre in regards to the ASD specific content on www.raisingchildren.net.au.


Kirsty's areas of interest are in assessment for diagnosis and school funding purposes, toilet training, eating issues, anxiety management, and explaining the ASD diagnosis to the individual. Kirsty also works with children in out of home and foster placements and child Victims of Crime.

Julia Seedsman

B.A., Post Grad. Dip. Applied Psych., Assoc MAPS



Julia has nineteen years experience working with children, adolescents and adults with an Autism Spectrum Disorder, their families and/or carers.  Julia has worked providing behavioural intervention programs in private practice, Early Childhood settings and in the home.


Julia has experience facilitating parent groups, running anxiety management and social skills groups and delivering seminars and workshops.


Julia has a particular interest in providing parent support and counselling, including ten years as the CEO/Principal Psychologist at Autism Behavioural Intervention Association, seven years as a Family Counsellor for Autism Victoria and five years in Private Practice at the Emotional Health Centre. Julia has recently also worked for SCOPE in the area of Early Childhood Intervention Services.


Julia's other areas of expertise are sleep issues, bullying, anxiety management, adolescents and young adults with ASD, and providing consultancy to schools.


Julia is available for appointments in Melbourne on Tuesdays, Wednesdays an Thursdays. 



Deborah Sweeney

MA (1st Class Hons), PG Dip. Ed.Psych



Deborah is a registered psychologist with fifteen years experience who has a passion for working with children and their families. With extensive experience in child assessment, Deborah regularly works with a range of cognitive, developmental and behavioural assessment instruments. She has achieved a research reliable standard in both the ADI-R and ADOS-2, and has been using them in complex, multi-disciplinary assessments for over 14 years. In the past years, Deborah has been able to further enhance her experience in these areas by developing her training skills. She now regularly trains health professionals in the ADI-R and ADOS-2 throughout the Asia-Pacific region. Deborah is married with two daughters, a dog and large collection of scarves.


Deborah is available for appointments in Melbourne on Wednesday, Thursday and Fridays.



Megan Marks

B. Soc. Welf., Cert. Adv. Counselling, Post Grad. Cert. Dev. Psychiatry




Megan has over ten years experience working with children and their families. She has worked in the social welfare fields of family violence support, as a counsellor specialising in sexual assault, and as a senior secondary school counsellor. Megan has undertaken additional training in treating trauma, counselling for grief and loss, and supporting indigenous clients. 


Megan is available for appointments in Traralgon on Wednesdays and Fridays.



Beth McNamara

B.A., Post Grad. Dip. Psych., MAPS



Beth is a registered psychologist who has extensive experience in working with children, young people and adults in both individual and group counselling interventions. Beth has worked in Parenting Orders Program, Supporting Children after Separation, Employee Assistance Program, Disability and General Counselling services. Beth has experience in delivering seminars, workshops and mentoring other professionals.  


Beth has interest in working with children, adolescents and adults who have experienced trauma or mental health related concerns, and in providing counselling and parenting support in this area.


Beth is available for appointments in Traralgon on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.





Sophie Newton


Business Manager

Melbourne Reception and Administration


Sophie has an undergraduate degree in psychology. She has over twenty  years experience in administration in children's services, and has worked at Outside the Square Psychology since 2011. Sophie has also had experience volunteering in educational agencies for children with disabilities.

Sophie works in Melbourne from Monday to Thursday.


Jenny Wilkie

Traralgon Office Manager

Traralgon Reception and Administration


Jenny has twenty years experience in administration roles, including eight years at Cooinda Hill Adult Day Service for clients with an intellectual disability. Jenny works in Traralgon from Tuesday to Friday.


Amy Close

Traralgon Reception and Administration


Amy has tertiary level qualifications in the Arts gained in Canada . She works in Traralgon on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
